CHARACTER

عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
(MUQODDIMAH)
My dear Brother and Sister, Let’s thank to Allah the Almighty, Who has
given us Mercy and Blessing, so we can meet together in this blessing place.
And also let's deliver Sholawat and Salam to our
prophet Muhammad SAW, Who has brought us, from the darkness to the brightness.
Standing in fron of you all, I would like to deliver my
speech under the tittle "The
role of Islam in shaping people’s character ".
Allah SAW said in Holy Qur’an:
الر ج كِتَابٌ
أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ
بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ {1}
Meant: “Alif
laam raa. A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightest
lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light - by the leave of their
Lord - to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in power, worthy of all praise!.”
(QS. Ibrahim)
Q.S Ibrahim explains
that the Holy is a light or an-nuur. It will bring people from the
darkness to the brightness. It means that Al Quran is guidance for people from
the foolishness into the intelligence.
Therefore, Holy Qur’an can build the people character. And of course, if there are many
people with good characters, it will build good nation.
Indonesia is a rich country of natural resources and human resources (HR).
The fact that nowadays, Indonesia faced various complex national
problems that is not finished yet.
Especially the case of moral crisis. A variety of the
nation's problems that occurred in Indonesia would be overcome if the human resources are actually
qualified. The Noble character who owned the nation of
Indonesia is getting lost. So that it must be rebuilt,
especially through education. Education is a planned effort in the learning process
for individuals to grow to be an independent, responsible, creative and knowledgeable human. And mainly, they will have noble moral and character.
The terminology, the Qur'an is
the word of Allah Almighty, sent down to the great prophet Muhammad saw,
one of its functions is "huda linnaas" guidance for people on this
earth. That's why, the role
of islamic education is as the agent of
change that must be able to repair the people's character.
As we know that one
of moral crisis reasons occurred in
Indonesia is because of losing
the noble character. Consequently, we as a young generation have a big question here."How To
Build the people’s noble caharacter to face the moral crisis in our country?". Of course, it is quite difficult.
But, "The most effective way to improve and to develop the noble character
is from improving the way of
thinking"
~ Abdullah bin 'Amr said; Prophet
sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: "Those whom
I love in the most among you is the best moral and
character."

Islam is very concerned with education. With the
right and qualified education, individuals will be formed, which ultimately led
the people into
the
noble social life.
In
the role of Islam, Islamic religious education can be powerful in shaping the
character of the people.
It seems clear, that Islam emphasizes the role of education in
its primary purpose is devotion
Allah optimally.
Such a life, it would be an
impact on people and got the urge to create safe, prosperous, and
qualified conditions in its environment.
Characters can be formed through
the environment, such as family environment in childhood or congenital.
Some argue that good or bad human
character is indeed congenital.
If just that is so,
then humans characters will not be
changed easily..
However, that opinion could be wrong.
If the opinion is right, then the
character education is useless, because it would not be possible to change the
character of the person.
Whereas, Alloh had sai in Ar Ro’du : 11
إن الله لا يغير ما بقوم حتى يغيروا ما بأنفسهم
“Allah does not change a people's lot unless they
change what is in their hearts.”
It shows that good or bad of human character is only depended on
themselves.
In Islam, prophet Muhammad SAW is the best model who had the best
character with Islamic education as declared in the Holy Qur’an (Q.S AL-Ahzab :
21)
"Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of
conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages
much in the Praise of Allah." (QS. Al-Ahzab: 21)
Why Can Islamic religious education shape the people’s
character?
Because
education is the main thing for human life, even human would be as if
not human without primary education.
For
that reason, people must get better education to get a better life and they
will reach a better future.
THAT there will be
no better future without having to build the noble character of ourselves.
In other words, there is no better
future that can be realized without honesty, without self-discipline, without
the spirit of learning, without responsibility, and without confident and
optimist sense. So, those are the important role of education to build the
noble character.
And Then, the basic or principal
source of morals or character is al-Quran and al-Hadith. Those are the main
source of Islam.
So the role of Islam can build a
noble character of the people through the islamic religion education.
Then it will create good
generation with “AKHLAKULKHARIMAH.
Consequently, Those will bring
islam into the glory.
Especially, indonesia which have
many moral crisis must develop islamic religion education, because as we know
that most of indonesia people don’t have qualified and noble character yet.
In Fact, there are many cases in
indonesia such as corruption, murder, bribe, ravishment and etc.
Do
you know what the reason of those cases?
Basically, just
one Answer. Moral Crisis.
So,
what is the solution ?
Actually, we
just need some great figures, as a great modal “USWATUN HASANAH” for the young
generation.
Let me put some
examples:
Prophet
Muhammad
is the most appropriate example for a precedent in shaping the character.
Likewise, his friends who used to
hold the holy al-Qur'an and as-Sunna in daily life.
And, they could create achievement
for islam and the country.
Beside that,
Recently, Musa as a little hafidz
in indonesia became the third winner in hafidz or memorizing holy qur’an
competition in the world.
It was a great achievement for
the young generation in indonesia, because he is just 7 y.o .
But he can memorize the whole
holy qur’an, Umdatul Ahkam, Arbain Nawawi, Arbain hadits ust Abdul Hakim bin
Amir Abdat, and Durusul Lughoh.
How
Come ?
He is just a little boy but he
have a great achievement.
In fact, it’s started from islamic
education in his family.
His parent educate him to be
dicipline to pray tahajjud, memorize and remember the holy qur’an, and join the
islamic study guided by his father.
Moreover, Musa is strongly
avoided from television which has bad impact for the children.
And another example,
Muhammad
Al-Fatih,
in his daily activity, he studied
history, linguistics, natural sciences, and in particular he also studied
strategy in war.
He could form his character since
he had stepped on adolescence, he had begun working on the obligatory and
sunnah prayers every day.
Eventually, with his intellegence
and education he could paralyze constantinople to be islamic country.
Then, we can conclude that islamic education is the
most important role for shaping people’s noble character.
So we can create islamic generation that will be
usefull for the religion and the country.

We must keep our struggle for building
ourselves.

My Dear brother and sister,
Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist of the 20th
century declared, "Religion without science is lame and relegion without
science is blind",
So, Let’s improve ourselves, to be always ready with
competition in life.
I think that’s All My Speech. I do beg your pardon
for my mistake. Hopefully, what i have told is useful for us.
Then let’s show our big spirit by saying takbir
together, ALLAHUAKBAR !

Oia, apa sih rahasia agar tetap jadi diri sendiri saat lomba, khususnya pidato bahasa inggris kali ini? :) First, saya niat dalam hati, kenapa sih saya harus mengikuti english speech kali ini. Curahkan semua kepada ALLAH SWT. Sebelum hari lomba, persiapkan dirimu Secara maksimal, Dan yang paling penting,, Berpidatolah dengan hatimu, terutama kalian para kaum Akhwati ^_^ Semoga Kalian tetap Beristiqomah menjadi muslimah sejati, BE YOURSELF ajah. INGET ! gunakan hatimu saat kamu sedang berhadapan di sekian banyak mata yg memandang. Dan tetap jaga pandanganmu, saat kamu didepan, terutama saat kondisi umum, biasanya sih, ikhwan sama akhwatnya dicampur, Oia, waktu saya pidato. Juri saya cuma dua. Perempuan dan laki-laki. Saat didepan, mata saya tidak pernah menuju pandangan kearah kerumunan laki-laki, jurinya Laki-lakipun saya tidak melihat. Ehhehe.. Alhamdulillah.. JIKA ENGKAU MENGEJAR AKHIRAT, MAKA DUNIA AKAN MENGIKUTIMU. tidak ada kata tidak mungkin, selagi engkau yang selalu dekat dengan ALLAH SWT. Good Luck ! Ma'annajah !! ^_^
